We are planning a trip to Disney World for October 16-23. There will be 5 adults, 3 yr old boy and 11 mo old boy. What resorts do you recommend? One room with 3 adults and one room with 2 adults and 2 children. Which dining package do you recommend?

    Hi Brenda,

I have good news for you.  Because of the combination of people you have, you can choose any of the Walt Disney World resorts.  All rooms can sleep at least four people, so you will fit in any hotel room!  I suggest that you start by considering which resort category is right for you - value, moderate, or deluxe.  By visiting the Walt Disney World website for exploring resorts, you can sort the resorts by category.  Next, choose the category which is right for you and see which resort is the most appealing for your group.

You can also select the "Deluxe Villas" category, which will show you the Disney Vacation Club resorts.  Although many of these accommodations are booked by Disney Vacation Club members using vacation points, there are some available using traditional payment methods such as credit card.  Your party of eight could book a two-bedroom villa at one of these resorts and have enough space - including at least two full bathrooms and a full kitchen!  My family loves using the full kitchen so that we do not have to eat out three meals a day.

Speaking of eating out, you asked about dining packages.  Again, I think that this will depend on your group.  There are dining packages for all levels - from the quick-service plan to plans which offer not only lots of table-service meals but also recreation.  I suggest that you visit the Disney Dining Plan website and download the various brochures about the different dining plans to see which are the best for you and your family.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you to start planning your Walt Disney World vacation, Brenda.  I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer, so please do come back if you have further questions as you plan!
