We are planning a trip to Disney the week after Christmas (only going to Magic Kingdom) and someone told me that is the absolute busiest week & that Disney will also close the park if there are too many people there, is this true?

    Hi Amy!

Your source is correct. It is very busy, and the parks will close once they reach capacity. Having been there for this past New Years, I can tell you it is crowded. We stayed in the park from early in the day until the very end, because had we left mid day, we would not have had re-entry due to the capacity limit. In addition, finding a place to sit, whether it was for a show or to eat, required strategy. There were only a handful of attractions we actually experienced, but with younger children it was more important for us to make sure their needs were being attended to and that meant going at an especially calmer (slower) pace than usual in order to not overwhelm them.

So now that I've told you the cold facts, here's the rest of what you should know:
It was especially magical. The holiday decorations and festivities really provide that extra touch of magic. The firework shows, brought me to tears of joy each time. In the end, it's an especially magical way to spend the holidays and if you can embrace a heap of patience, accept that you won't get to every single attraction, and focus on enjoying the festivities, it's worth the experience.

     Hope this helps!
