Planning trip to Disney. Traveling with husband and 2 kids (12&9). Husband will bring motorized wheelchair. Where is the best place to stay in terms of ease of getting to park and then park hopping with w/c? How are crowds 1st 2 weeks of March?

Hi Melissa! Please note that all resorts are more then happy to help all their guests who have mobility issues during their  Disney vacation stay. All Disney buses at this time are equipped to handle the motorized scooters so getting from place to place is not going to be an issue.

One resort suggestion for you to consider might be the Contemporary resort. This resort is located within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom and is also on the monorail line. With a simple change at the Transportation and Ticket Center you can reach Epcot via the monorail. From Epcot you can hop on the boats at the International Gateway entrance to head to Hollywood Studios. That gives you three parks for easy access.

Another location to consider is the Boardwalk area resorts: Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk.  These resorts are within walking distance to the Epcot park and a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios. You can ultimately take the monorail from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom but it is generally easier to hop on a bus at the resort.

The Animal Kingdom park is only accessed via bus from any of the Disney resorts.

The first two weeks of March will definitely be considered spring break weeks at the parks. These weeks tend to be busy but from year to year it is impossible to gauge how much. We were there this past spring to find one week very busy and the next very slow. It simply depends on school schedules across the country. Even if it is a busy week just come prepared with your plan and your dining reservations and you will still find lots of magic to experience during your stay!
