Planning our 1st trip to Disney and we have the choice of coming the first week of March or in April or May 2012. We would like to take advantage of the water parks but hope to avoid big crowds. What are the pros and cons for the dates mentioned? Thanks!

    Hi Joseph,

If your major concern is avoiding crowds, I would visit the first week of March and make sure that you're done touring the parks prior to March 10th when the Spring Break season really kicks into high gear.

Nearly all of April sees very high crowds so I'd skip that option entirely. The first half of May sees moderate to high crowds but nothing like you would see in April when schools across the country have scattered vacations. May however has more rainfall, generally.

March has highs near 80 while May has highs near 90. Since the water attractions at the water parks as well as the pools at the resorts are heated, the first week of March would still get my vote!

If May works better, go as early in May as possible as it'll really be heating up with high humidity as the month progresses.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
