I am planning trip for daughters 16th, she wants Polynesian for my family of 5. We stayed before the refurb- is it worth staying there again? She wants the island feel and to be able to access the parks. are there connecting rooms? Which longhouse is best?

    Hello Shannon!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I don't blame your daughter. If I could choose to stay at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel, it would be Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

It definitely has that island feel, and I love the location. You can monorail to Magic Kingdom Park, and you're close enough to walk to the Transportation & Ticket Center to catch a monorail to Epcot.

Another bonus is all the dining options at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Two of my favorite restaurants are there - 'Ohana and Kona Cafe. Plus Dole Whips at Pineapple Lanai next to the pool are reason enough to love the Poly.

There are connecting rooms at Disney's Polynesian Resort. You can make a request, but it's not guaranteed. The best longhouses depend on what you want. If you want to be close to the pool, I recommend Samoa. Also, it depends which room view you book. Tuvalu has Lagoon and Magic Kingdom Views. The longhouses closes to the Transportation & Ticket Center are ones with Disney Vacation Club villas.

I hope this helps! Whenever I stay at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, I always feel like I'm on a tropical vacation. I wish your daughter a very happy Sweet Sixteen!
