    Shannon from NJ Asked

Planning a trip for 4/2019 with our daughter(3), my parents & nephew (8). Is it better to book one of the All Star rooms? What's the benefit vs a resort not Disney? (we plan to drive from NJ) Best times for parks? Best to use fast passes on?

    Hi Shannon,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you are planning the perfect multi-generational trip!

Although Disney's All-Star Movies, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts are great family-friendly resorts, there are other value resort hotels that might work well for your family. Disney's Art of Animation Resort has family suites that can sleep up to six adults. Note that these suites have one Queen Bed, one double-sized sleeper sofa and one double-size table bed. The do have two bathrooms and a kitchenette. I also suggest that you take a look at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

My family always stays at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel because of the amazing resort hotel benefits. Our favorite benefit is the ability to make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance for rides and attractions. Fast Pass+ allows guests to reserve ride times for up to three rides per day at one theme park for each day that you have valid theme park admission. Doing so saves us hours of time in lines. I always go online by 7:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on day 60 to make our Fast Pass+ selections. For our upcoming trip, I was able to secure Fast Pass+ selections for Slinky Dog Dash, one of the new rides in Toy Story Land and Avatar Flight of Passage on Pandora - The World of Avatar. We use our Fast Pass+ selections for the most popular attractions - the ones that typically have the longest wait times.

Shannon, we visit the parks at park opening and then leave by early afternoon to enjoy the resort pool. We usually return to a park in the evening to do a few more rides and watch the fireworks!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
