Planning a trip in 2017 with my daughter who will be 18. We are getting a DDP and want to know what Character dining experience is best for adults? Also do any of the lounges and bars allow minors in during certain times of the day or early night times?

    Hi Lisa,

I love that you are considering how to have fun with your teenage daughter at Walt Disney World!

For character dining that would appeal to a more adult crowd, I have a few suggestions. Consider Chip 'n Dale's Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill Restaurant in Epcot. This character meal includes farm-fresh food, some of which was grown right in The Land Pavilion at Epcot. The restaurant also slowly rotates as you dine, providing a continually changing view. Another good option is Tusker House Restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom. Here, you meet Donald Duck and friends in safari gear. I enjoy that the food here includes both African-inspired fare as well as more traditional American favorites. Finally, I enjoy breakfast at 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, where you can feast on Polynesian-inspired fare while meeting Lilo and Stitch. Please do note that all character appearances are subject to change.

As to lounges, for the most part you should find your 18-year-old daughter welcome. Most of the lounges include a bar but also have comfortable lounge seating where you can order food. Exceptions to this include Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney's BoardWalk, both of which always require guests to be 21. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also has a policy that after 8:00 p.m., guests must be 21 years old. I also believe that Rix Lounge at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort may have restrictions on guest age at least at some times.

I would love to help you plan more Lisa; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
