We are planning a trip, but can't decide between the first week of Jan or Mar 13-18. Are we crazy trying to go during Spring Break or would the first week of Jan be best. Thanx for the great advice so far!

Hi Michele!  There are lots of things to consider when planning the "right" time for your Disney vacation!  March weather would certainly be warmer but also the possibility of being a wetter month as well.  The average temperatures range from 50-72 degrees in January and from 56-79 degrees in March.  Average rainfall is 2.4 inches in January and 3.5 inches in March.

As far as crowds go the better bet is the first week of January.  Most children are back in school and that is always the best time to visit the parks for the shortest lines to the attractions!  The 2010 Disney Marathon is being held this year from 1/7-1/10 and during that time the crowds will increase.  March is spring break time and starting with the third week the attendance is considered most crowded by Disney standards!

I have more energy when it is cooler and I like short lines so my vote is to visit in January!
