Family in Magic Kingdom

I am planning a trip for August of 2017 with my family. I know there are typically discounts for the end of August. Can I book a trip now or at the end of this year and still receive the discounts next year when they come available?

    Hi Joseph,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The answer is… well… “sorta”! From what I understand, Special Offers are often limited to a certain number of reservations at each Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. If you already have a Magic Your Way Vacation Package booked, you will have to cancel it and re-book it with a Resort that offers a promotion or a discount in August 2017. You may get lucky and be able to get a package that is identical to the one you had initially booked, but there is a chance that you may not. In that case, you'll have to choose a different room type/Resort if you want to take advantage of the promotion, or you'll have to stick with your original package (and cost). The advantage to booking now is making sure that you’re able to book the type of room and package you want, while there is still plenty of availability.

If you’re hoping to be able to take advantage of a Special Offer next year, I highly recommend booking your vacation with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. The advantage of booking with them is that they’re usually among the first to know when a new promotion is about to be released. They’ll save you the leg work of trying to keep up-to-date with any special offers and whether or not they’ll actually be able to save you money (not every special offer is right for every family).

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation. Happy planning!

    Have a Magical Day,
