Hi planning trip Apr SB 2011 me and DD 15 we love CBR thinking of splurging to the POLY,is it worth it and why?7 nights should we split resorts?budget kinda tight,me a single mom. What special and cool things to do with her being a teen now v.s child. thx!

Hi Stacey - If you love Disney's Caribbean Beach resort, the relaxing, tropical, beachy feel you find at the Polynesian will probably be right up your alley. Let's go over some of the differences in the two resorts:

The Polynesian is a Deluxe resort, which = bigger rooms, queens vs. double beds, interior hallways, and balconies - with the possibility of a Magic Kingdom view. The monorail gives quick access to the Magic Kingdom. You can also ride or walk to the TTC to take the Epcot monorail. There is full room service, more restaurant choices, shops and a super cool zero-entry Volcano-themed pool. However, you are probably already spoiled by the great pool at CBR, so the Volcano pool may not be much of a deal-maker for you. There is also not a hot tub at the Polynesian - but there is a a hot water area near the slide. You do get amazing Cinderella Castle views from the Volcano pool though!

Some fun things unique to the Polynesian are getting a DoleWhip at Captain Cooks,  viewing Wishes on the beach or the Electrical Water Pageant float by, and the nightly torch lighting ceremony, which happens Tuesday through Saturday. If you and your daughter are into watercraft recreation, there's nothing quite like being able to sail around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, which is possible at the Polynesian!

Being budget conscious myself, I can't recommend you splitting your visit if it'll mean worrying about having enough money elsewhere. If you can fit 2 or 3 nights into your budget comfortably, I think you and your daughter will love the Polynesian. It's really something every Disney fan should experience. If you decide to book some nights there, be sure to add it at the end of your visit, not the beginning, because you want to enjoy the feeling of upgrading, not feel like you are missing out for the rest of your trip.

I hope this helps you decide and that you and your daughter have a magical vacation, no matter where you stay! ~Suzannah
