Am Planning trip Apr/09. Disney seems to be cutting back (park hours, I was really disappointed that P&PP dates have now been cancelled). What other cutbacks should I expect? should I change dates??

No, don't change dates.  I think April 2009 could be a GREAT time to visit.  With all of the offers that they have out right now (Buy 4 days get 3 days free, etc.), you can save money, and I suspect the parks will be less crowded than they were in the last few years.  I don't think Disney would be making such great discount offers (nor reducing hours) if they thought there were going to be large crowds.

Could they make more changes?  Who knows??  But if they do, I'm confident it won't stop you from having a magical visit.

Regarding the Mickey's Pirate and Princess Parties (MP&PP), if you are a "glass half full" kind of person hopefully you can see that without these parties the planned Magic Kingdom hours are now actually longer for regular guests, as they won't close the park at 7 pm for the MP&PP to begin.

I'm sure this doesn't apply to you, but I find it somewhat amusing that many people last year were complaining that hard-ticket parties weren't fair, since the Magic Kingdom was closed early (7pm) and required a separate admission.  But now that they decided to not have the MP&PP, people complain about them being canceled.  Poor Mickey -- sure is hard to please everyone!!

I personally will try to keep looking for the half-full part of the glass.  ;-)  I figure that without the MP&PP it will make planning much easier and save me some money (no longer buying the MP&PP tickets).

    Hope that helps. ºoº
