I am planning a trip to Animal Kingdom with my 10 year old in April. I haven't been in over 20 years! What should we use our fast pass for? Also, I heard that morning is the best to do the safari but the park doesn't open until 9. Is that too late

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa!

Kilimanjaro Safaris is an attraction that I never miss when I'm on vacation. I love it because it's different every time we go. You mentioned that you heard that the morning is one of the best times to ride, and would I agree! It tends to be cooler in the morning, and lots of the animals are up and about enjoying something to eat. Some of my friends and I enjoyed a chilly morning safari recently, and we saw some of the most elusive animals, like the cheetahs and the painted dogs, playing and interacting with each other. There were even some giraffes basking in the sun just a few feet from our safari vehicle as we passed by! I would recommend heading right to Kilimanjaro Safaris when the park opens at 9 a.m, and using the standby line so you can save your FastPass+ selections for a few other attractions that tend to gather a larger crowd earlier in the day.

Speaking of FastPass+, I have a few recommendations for you if you're spending the day at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Pandora - The World of Avatar is the newest land in the park and is really popular with guests right now, so I would recommend a FastPass+ for Avatar Flight of Passage if you and your daughter are thrill seekers, and Na'vi River Journey for a gentle river ride through the bioluminescent forest. Finally, no visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom is complete without a ride on Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.

Say hi to the Yeti for me!
