Planning our third family visit and 10 yr old wants to stay in royal rooms at port New Orleans. Any ideas or advice about the different rooms: standard, riverside, garden view or poolside. What is quieter which ones best and which has best views?

    Hi Ginger!

Your daughter is wise! I would also love to stay in a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside! Those headboards look amazing, and I love decor that makes me feel like a princess. The Royal Guest Rooms are located in two areas-Parterre Place and Oak Manor. Both locations are fairly close to the lobby and food court.

As far as views, that is basically what the booking categories indicate. A Standard View would most likely be of a parking lot, River Views would be of the Sassagoula river, Pool View of the pool (not the main feature pool), and Garden View could mean views of gardens, courtyards, fountains, etc. My personal favorite is the River View, because I like the water, but I would choose whatever appeals to you and your family.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside is one of my favorite Moderate hotels! In fact, I'll be staying there this month and can't wait! One of my favorite things to do is take the ferry boat to Downtown Disney. I hope your family enjoys it as much as I do.

    Have a magical, fantastical vacation!
