We are planning our third Disney vacation possibly around December 19-24. Has it gotten busy by that time or are we still safe?

I think you're in for some crowds. The December crowd levels at WDW vary slightly from year to year depending on what day of the week Christmas actually falls on. Since Christmas falls in the middle of the week this year, many school districts around the country will give two full weeks of vacation. For example, my school district will have vacation this year from December 19 to January 5. This will be quite typical of schools in the New York area (a major source of WDW vacationers). And, since school is out, that means WDW will be full.

Even though the crowd level will be high, you can still have a great time at WDW, enjoying the holiday decorations and experiencing the special holiday activities. But you will have to keep your expectations in check for wait times for the rides.
