I am planning on taking my 2 yr old daughter to Disney in December. She loves to go swimming. Will it be warm enough for her to swim in December? Do the pools have a "off" season where they are closed?

    Hi Kristen:

Thanks for sending the Disney Parks Moms Panel your question.  We visit Walt Disney World Resort every December, and my five year old daughter loves to swim as well.  While Florida weather can be cooler in December, there has always been a day or two where it was warm enough to swim while on vacation.  All of the pools at Walt Disney World Resort are heated, and I have never seen Resort pools close in the "off season", however one of the Disney Water Parks are typically closed for refurbishment during the cooler months.  I would keep an eye on the weather as your vacation approaches, and choose the day that looks like it will be the warmest to head on down to the pool.  Last December, we were very lucky as the temperatures were really warm, and we swam almost every day!

If you do choose to swim on your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation, I would recommend bringing a cover-up down to the pool area.  I have found that we are always fine when we are in the water, however the long walk back to our resort room can be a bit chilly.

I hope Elsa is in a good mood and allows the weather to stay warm this December so that your daughter can enjoy some time in the pool Kristen.  Please let me know if you have any other questions as your vacation approaches.  I would be happy to help in any way I can.
