I am planning on taking two of my children with special needs to Disney next year for their first visit. I wanted to know how parade marshalls are chosen? This panel is always so helpful and loaded with information. Thanks

Welcome to the Moms Panel Melinda!

Being the Mom of a special needs son, I know how important it is to me to make sure he and his brother have an awesome trip to Disney World.  I wish I could give you the key to being selected as the parade Grand Marshals.  However, Cast Members randomly select Guests for things such as the Family of the Day for Rope Drop or the Grand Marshal for the parade.

To increase your chances, I'd arrive at the Magic Kingdom early - prior to Rope Drop.  Wear bright or matching shirts or maybe some sort of snazzy Disney hats.  Be happy and enthusiastic and smile a lot at the Cast Members.  Hopefully you'll catch the eye of the right person at the right time and be selected.

Disney is a great place to visit with children with special needs.  Please let us know if you need help or any suggestions during your planning.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you are selected for the parade Grand Marshals.  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
