    Ayden from CA Asked

Hi there! I was planning on taking my son to his first disneyland trip for his 4th birthday. I wanted to do the breakfast with chatacters. I was thinking of the plaza inn vs goofy's kitchen. Any suggestions? Do either of those restaurants offer cakes?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ayden. Thanks for stopping by with your question for us!

It is so magical to celebrate a child’s birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth, and to top it off, it’ll be his first time too! Both Minnie & Friends—Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn and Goofy’s Kitchen are great places to dine for Character Breakfasts. The big question is whether you want to be inside Disneyland park already or not.

There are some factors to consider. For example: will you have Magic Morning? Are you spending multi-days at the parks? Are you looking for something whimsical, or classic, iconic Disney?

If spending time in the parks for attractions and entertainment is high priority for you, I’d recommend making a reservation on a non-park day at Goofy’s Kitchen; since it’s located inside Disneyland Hotel, you do not need park tickets for it. Or if you prefer Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn, make an early reservation before the park opens. That way, you’ll be inside Disneyland park and dine with your favorite Characters. Once you’ve enjoyed your breakfast, you’ll be ready to explore the park.

A birthday cake can be ordered by contacting Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE up to 60 days prior to your arrival. Don’t forget to pick up a complimentary Happy Birthday or First Visit button at City Hall in Disneyland park or Chamber of Commerce in California Adventure to commemorate the special occasion!

I hope you’ll find this information helpful. Please visit me on the Panel again if you have further questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
