Hi there, Tiffany! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!
My daughter is also starting kindergarten in the fall so I can clearly picture how excited your son will be about his surprise trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! You’ll be glad to know that the Disneyland Resort is extremely accommodating to those with any type of special need. They offer lots of services to Guests to make their park-going as easy and stress-free as possible. The first is using Disney’s FASTPASS Service which will be key to touring the parks efficiently. Using FASTPASS at select attractions helps you avoid the majority of the line which keeps any child (or adult!) happy. You can also upgrade to the
Disney MaxPass option which will allow you to make FASTPASS selections on your mobile device from anywhere in the parks. MaxPass is a huge time-saver as you don’t have to physically visit any FASTPASS distribution kiosks.
If you are concerned about waiting for attractions that do not offer FASTPASS, you can stop by Guest Relations to inquire about
Disability Access Service. For Guests who are unable to tolerate waiting in traditional queues, Disability Access Service provides a virtual wait instead. You will be issued a return time for an attraction and while you wait, you can enjoy other areas of the park. You do not need to bring any sort of medical diagnosis or doctor’s note, you just need to discuss your needs with a friendly Cast Member when you arrive at the parks.
If you have any other questions, please stop by again. See ya real soon!
