Planning summer 18 trip w/hubby, kids (8 & 7 boys, 3 girl). Early June or mid August? Ak dining plan deluxe, 5-7 days. All parks except epcot. Need bibidy bobbity boutique. Max 4 hrs at parks per day. Itinerary/advice?

Greetings, Stephanie! Wow! You are off to a great start in planning your trip, and I thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

When starting to plan, I always take a look at my budget to choose my resort and then my trip dates. From there, I religiously visit Undercover Tourist’s crowd calendar to figure out what days I should spend in what park. That leads me to make my dining reservations at the 180 days from check-in mark, and then my Fast Passes at the 60 days from check-in mark. I would call for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at the 180 day mark as well as The Pirates League for your boys (they can do mermaid makeovers as well) or the Harmony Barber Shop for a haircut for anyone in your family (even Dad can get a beard trim or a haircut!). Take these reservations seriously, especially with the Deluxe Dining Plan. You’ll need to make all your Table Service reservations on your reservation morning, as early as 6am EST. Write all your choices and times down so you can quickly buzz through the reservations system with everything you want.

I recommend a Park Hopper ticket package if you just want to spend 4 hours at a park. That leaves time for a mid-day nap before you return to the parks for dinner or a nighttime spectacular like Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After Fireworks or the incredible Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I adore being able to have a few experiences each day to make my trip stand out.

Please let me know what else I can do to help plan your vacation. I’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
