I am planning on staying at the Wilderness Cabins.  Is it a nice place to stay?  Can I take food and drinks into the parks to save money?

    Hi Catherine!

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort are a fabulous, super family-friendly option for families who'd like a little extra space and some home-like conveniences such as a full kitchen (with dishwasher, full fridge, microwave and regular oven).  Each cabin also comes with its own private deck and bbq.  The cabins all have a master bedroom with a full-sized bed and bunks, and a living room with a murphy-style double bed.  Fort Wilderness Resort is truly a vacation destination in its own right.  There are so many fabulous activities (horseback riding, fishing, buggy rides, dinner shows, etc), that you almost don't need to leave the property!  The main pool has just been refurbished and re-themed, and looks fantastic!  It's also very conveniently located to the Magic Kingdom, and is a quick boat ride away.  My kids love the Fort, and feel like they are "camping at Disney" each time we visit.  What could be better?

As for part two of your question, not only can you bring food into the parks, but I highly recommend it as a way to save money.  You'll have a full kitchen in your cabin, so you'll easily be able to bring along a soft cooler bag.  I recommend freezing water bottles or juice boxes to keep everything fresh.  Feel free to bring snacks, sandwiches and whatever else keeps your family happy!  (Please note, large coolers and glass bottles are not permitted in the theme parks.)

    Have a fabulous trip!
