    Kim Asked

We are planning to stay at AKL in March '14 with our 2 sons, ages 9 and 3 (at the time). What is the difference b/t the Savanna View and the Arusha View? If they go to Simba's clubhouse, will they be able to enjoy activities together despite the age gap?

Hi Kim, you have chosen a breathtaking resort!  I had the pleasure of staying there during my oldest son's very first trip to Walt Disney World when he was almost 4 years old.  We had a savannah view room and each and every evening we watched the giraffes  outside our window.  He was in utter awe of seeing them that up close and personal!

To answer your question, the Arusha is one of the four savannas around the resort.  It is probably the most popularly requested because that particular savanna is the largest one off of the main lobby that forms the giant C-shape.  The other savannas are off the smaller branches of the resort. So, that is why the Arusha view has a separate room rate classification.  I will tell you that from my experience, we had a savanna view room for the savanna off the Ostrich Trail (each branch or "trail" of the resort has a different name) and were not disappointed!

Simba's Clubhouse is a fantastic place for the kids to go while parents enjoy some alone time to catch a quiet meal or go back into the parks for some fireworks.  There are all sorts of fun things to do.  While it is a great opportunity for them to enjoy time with other children of the same age, I am sure that having big brother enjoy those activities with him would be will be quite acceptable and a great chance for them to bond over a fun craft or activity.  Do keep in mind that Simba's Clubhouse is open to children ages 3-12, but the 3 year old must be potty-trained!

Another great activity to consider sharing with your boys one evening at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the Jambo House Campfire.  On designated evenings, you can join in on storytelling, sing-a-longs and a fun snack!

Enjoy the planning of your trip and don't forget to stop back by and ask me more questions!
