Planning my son's first trip in December, just before his second birthday!! Any good tips or suggestions on how to keep a toddler happy during our trip? Help! I'm excited but nervous!

    Hi, there!

Oh my gosh, Kristen - I'm so excited to hear about the trip you're planning. Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with a little one in tow is so magical! Our little guys have made several trips as toddlers, so I'm happy to share my best toddler-tips with you.

I don't know about your son, but my sons are less than patient and don't wait well. To avoid lines, arrive to the theme parks early; 30 to 40 minutes prior to park opening. Crowds are lightest first thing in the morning, and your family can take advantage of low wait times by arriving early. Be sure to utilize Disney's FastPass+ service too! With FastPass+, your family can bypass the standby line and ride popular attractions with little to no wait.

Pack a bag for a day in theme parks with toddler essentials like wipes, a change of clothes, hand sanitizer, Ziploc bags (come in handy for all sorts of things!), and your little guy's favorite snacks. A stroller is a MUST too! You can rent strollers from the four theme parks and Disney Springs, but we prefer to take our own. Our City Mini stroller reclines completely, making it a great place for our little ones to take a nap on the go.

Make it a point to take an afternoon break. My family leaves the theme parks shortly after lunch and heads back to our Resort hotel to nap (parents too!). After everyone has had a chance to rest, our family is ready for evening magic in the theme parks.

Kristen, I love chatting about littles ones and the Walt Disney World Resort, so please let me know if you have any other questions. It's my pleasure to help you plan a magical visit!
