We are planning several trips to WDW in the 12 mos starting 7/14. I want to buy annual passes. In order to book FastPass+, do I need to have the passes in May (we are staying on property)? And when are they considered "active" and when do they ex

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for your question. I'm happy to try to clarify the annual pass procedure for you. If I understand correctly, you are visiting in July, but want to make your FastPass+ reservations 60 days out, which would be in May.

You are correct that a valid ticket is necessary before you can choose FastPasses.

If you buy your annual passes online now, you will receive a voucher number that you can link in My Disney Experience. That will let the system to know that you have valid passes and will allow you to book FastPasses for your July vacation.

The start date of your annual passes, however, will not begin until you activate the tickets when you arrive at Walt Disney World and use the tickets for the first time. The expiration date will be one year from the date of first use.

I did this earlier this year when I renewed my family's passes, and it worked perfectly.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as you plan your visits over the next several months. Enjoy!
