We are planning our second visit to Disney in March 2013, a family of 4, including 2 boys, ages 3 and 6. We are trying to decide on the best moderate resort for us. Any tips or suggestions to make our decision easier?

    Hi Kimberly,

March is my absolute favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World!  The temperatures are mild and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is simply stunning.  Your family is going to have a wonderful time.

I have two suggestions as you consider your housing options:

    1.  If your boys are big pirate fans, you can't beat the pirate-themed rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  If you decide to book a room at this resort, be quite clear on your reservation that you want one of these specially themed rooms.

    2.  If staying in a pirate-themed room is not on your family's to-do list, then I'd choose Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter.  I stayed there last month and couldn't possibly recommend it more highly.  It is the smallest of Disney's moderate resorts so no room is far from the resort's pool, food court, complimentary bus transportation, or Guest Services desk.  The advantages to a compact resort will become obvious quickly as you move your boys back and forth to the theme parks.  I bet they'll also enjoy sliding down the sea serpent's tongue at the main themed pool.  Personally, I enjoyed having the option of taking a boat to Downtown Disney to shop and dine.

Let us know if you need any additional information to ease your decision between Disney's marvelous moderate resorts.
