When planning I have a 3 (one is small) children. However, I don't need the space for 5 people. Just 4. He will just need tickets. How do I book a room for us including him without being charged for a 5 person room but getting him a ticket?

    Hi Lendsey,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.

At Walt Disney World Resort, age 3 is the magical age in which children need tickets and “count” in the number of people in a room. If your child is under the age of 3, he or she will not need park tickets, and will be considered a “child under age 3 in a crib,” and therefore not counted with the other hotel room occupants over age 3. If your child is 3 or older, he or she will need park tickets and will be counted in the number of occupants of your hotel room. When booking a room, you should list all people who will be staying the room, regardless of age. If you need a pack and play or crib, be sure to request one and Mousekeeping will bring it for you if there is one available.

My family loved the Alligator Bayou rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside because the room has a really cute fold-down bed that was perfect for a small child. Other standard rooms that offer accommodations for five are: The Pirate rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort, and many of the Deluxe resorts. You could also look at the Family Suites at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Another option would be the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, which feature a kitchen.

For pricing and other questions about occupancy, I recommend calling the friendly Cast Members on the Reservations team at (407) 939-1936. They will be able to answer all your questions and help you figure out what works best for your family.

Lendsey, if I didn’t understand your question, or if you have further questions, please send me a direct message on the Disney Parks Moms Panel site and I will be happy to help.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,

    Robyn
