I am planning (in October 2014) to visit Disney World with our 4 year old, who will be turning 5 while we are there ! I've heard all kinds of thing to do - including getting her "birthday button" and character breakfasts, etc. What do you sugge

    Hey Tara!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! You have come to the right place for lots of great birthday ideas.

Celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World just has to be the most magical way to celebrate. Here are some ideas to get you started:
    • Start the big day with a character breakfast. Be careful to not start to early though. If you are not staying in a resort which has its own character breakfast you will want to have plenty of time to utilize Disney transportation.
    • When visiting the parks stop by Guest Services and pick up a button to commemorate the occasion.
    • Prior to leaving for your trip pick up a birthday card which you can have the characters sign. This will be a great keepsake from the trip.
    • Check out all the great in-room celebrations offered by Disney Floral & Gifts.
    • I can't think of a better way to cap off a birthday then a dessert party. Both Magic Kingdom and Epcot offer parties which include special viewing areas for their respective fireworks displays.

For more fun ideas on celebrating special occasions at Walt Disney World check out some great advice from my friends here on the Disney Parks Mom Panel.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
