Hi All! We are planning a last minute trip to Magic Kingdom THIS weekend with our 2 year old daughter. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated as this is our first time there with a toddler. Thanks!

You must be so excited for your last-minute trip, Julie! You'll love seeing everything as a parent through your toddler's eyes - it really is a whole new experience!

My first tip for tackling a day at Magic Kingdom Park is to set realistic expectations. When my husband and I visited Walt Disney World Resort before having kids, we were able to dart from attraction to attraction, and we got a lot done! With young children, we have realized that we have to take things a little more slowly and appreciate the moments when our little ones insist on walking by themselves, instead of riding in the stroller, and want to stop to see every flower and sit on every bench.

My next piece of advice is to use a stroller in the parks, either by bringing your own or renting one when you arrive. Not only is a stroller helpful for resting your little one's tired legs, but it can also come in handy by giving you extra space to hold things like snacks and sippy cups. Speaking of snacks, plan to take a break or two during your day. You'd be surprised how a few minutes on a park bench, snacking on a Mickey-shaped pretzel or other treat, can re-energize your family and prepare you to experience more fun!

With valid theme park admission, you are able to book up to three FastPass+ selections per person (ages 3 and up), per day, in advance. Your 2-year old will be able to enter the FastPass+ line with you as long as you have a valid FastPass+ and the ride doesn't have any height requirements. I suggest making all three selections for early in the day, because once you use all three, you can choose more FastPass+, one at a time. This can really help reduce time spent in lines! Have fun!
