Planning a large family reunion trip for 2016. Most of the kids will be under 6. I think a deluxe villa will be great for space, comfort, and transportation, but the Art of Animation resort looks like it would be so much fun for the kids. Suggestions?

    Hi Kathyrn,

I love that you are getting a jump on planning for your vacation!

When you travel with children under six, you will need a stroller. This means that you will need to bring the stroller on Disney transportation with you. While on the large boats and monorail you can leave your children in the stroller, the buses will require you to take your children out of the stroller.

Now in theory, this does not sound so bad. However, at the end of a long day and a sleeping tired child, nothing is heavier than holding that child standing up on a bus with a stroller. While most guests will give you a seat, sometimes the bus is filled with guests in similar situations.

This is the main reason I recommend a villa at the Epcot or Magic Kingdom (excluding Wilderness Lodge) area. You can travel to two parks at least without getting on a bus and simply pushing a stroller onto the transportation. Art of Animation requires you to travel on a bus to every park. A villa also gives you access to a full kitchen and washer/dryer unit. The pools and theming are just as fun as Art of Animation. If your youngest was six, I would then go to the Art of Animation.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
