We are planning a halloween visit October 2009. We like to stay at a different hotel each visit to experience the different themes. This visit we would like a room where you can see the fireworks from your hotel balcony/ room. Any suggestions?

There are really only three hotels at WDW where you could get a decent view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from your room: the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. There are some rooms at the Boardwalk and Beach Club where you can see a bit of the Epcot Illuminations fireworks, but since so much of Illuminations takes place within the park, it's really not the same. Of the Magic Kingdom hotels, the high floors of the Contemporary will give you the best views. You will have to make a request for a "theme park view" room. These rooms do rent for a premium above other similar rooms at the hotel. For more information and pricing, call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY.
