I am planning to go the WDW end of Feb to early. I am undecided on the Music resort out by Animal Kingdom or pay the extra $$$ to stay closer at the French Quarters. Any advice on the Family Value Resorts?

    Hi Shannon,

My boys and I have stayed at Value, Moderate and Luxury Resorts.  I kid you not when I say that, hands down, they consistently list the Value Resorts as their absolute favorites.  They are 7 and 9 and love the creative theming, larger-than-life displays and exciting lobbies, huge pools, arcades and food courts.  I can absolutely see how, from a child's perspective, the Value Resorts are the epitome of a Disney vacation.

If you are looking to save on accommodations, and perhaps spend more on dining, park ticket options, or special events, I say go ahead and stay at a Value Resort.  All Star Music is a wonderful property, filled with amenities and Disney magic.  Transportation to any of the theme parks will be via bus at either Port Orleans French Quarters or All Star Music, so your commuting time to and from the parks will be roughly the same.  Something to consider when making your decision:  Value Resorts don't have an on-site table service restaurant, so if you prefer a sit-down meal versus a food-court environment at your resort, you should select a moderate.  The Value rooms are also a bit smaller than those in the moderate resorts.  However, if your family is anything like mine, you won't be spending much time in your room, and this won't be an issue.

Whichever you chose, have a wonderful trip!
