We are planning to go to MK for New Years Eve. We are not staying onsite and travelling with young children. Is there an early fireworks display we can take advantage of? Any additional tips for MK on NYE would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Megan ~

I can't think of a more magical place to ring in the New Year than the Magic Kingdom! I have great news for you! I checked the online calendar and it shows that the Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks will be presented at 6:30 p.m. and again at 11:50 p.m. on December 31st, 2017. This is perfect for Guests traveling with younger Mouseketeers. There is a Frontierland New Year's Celebration Dance Party from 7:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Your little ones may also enjoy Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade at 3:30 p.m.

It is likely to be crowded - okay - really crowded - but you can still have an amazing time. Here are some tips for visiting the Magic Kingdom on New Year's Eve:

    * Purchase and link your theme park tickets in advance so that you can make Disney FastPass+ service selections prior to your trip. Guests who are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can start making FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance.
    * Make Advanced Dining Reservations. These can be made be made up to 180 days prior to your trip. You can make reservations online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
    * Download the My Disney Experience mobile app.
    * Pick up a printed times guide as you enter the park to check for special offerings during the day.
    * Get a very early start and don't leave the park.
    * Select your 3 "must dos" and make those your priority.
    * Bring your own water and snacks to avoid waiting in line for them.
    * If you need a stroller and have one, bring your own.
    * Plan to eat an early lunch and dinner to avoid the crowds.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
