Hi, we are planning to go downtown Disney on 9/24/13. The website says that DD opens at 8:30am, does this mean all of the stores will be open at this time? Also, will Disney Quest be open at 8:30am as well (DQ doesn't show on the parks hrs calendar. Thanks

    Hi Kimberly,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm happy to help clarify the Downtown Disney hours for you.

The public areas of Downtown Disney do open about 8:30 a.m., and that's when the buses start running to and from the various resorts to the district. But the stores, restaurants and other attractions don't get going until a bit later.

I double-checked the operating hours on the website and the Times Guide from my most recent visit this summer to give you the most accurate information I can. You also can verify the schedule on your Times Guide when you arrive at Walt Disney World, just in case schedules have changed.

    Here's the information I have:

Dining in the Marketplace section of Downtown Disney opens at 9 a.m.; the shops open at 9:30 a.m. In the Pleasure Island and West Side areas of Downtown Disney, the shops open at 10:30 a.m. and the dining at 11 a.m.

Disney Quest, which is in the West Side, opens at 11:30 a.m.

I hope that helps you better plan your day at Downtown Disney. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help. Enjoy!
