We are planning to go to Disneyland in CA for the first time with my 5 year old son in May, standing in line is not idea of a good time, what kind of tips can you share about fastpass and how can I sign up for it? We're not staying at a Disney Resort,

    Dear Lori,

If waiting in line is not your thing, I have good news!
There are several things you can do to avoid the lines at the Disneyland Resort if you plan ahead.
The best advice I can offer is to take advantage of the FASTPASS Service.
The way it works is, once you arrive at the theme parks, head to the attractions with a FASTPASS distribution sign (usually found near the entrance of the attraction).
Currently, there is one show and over a dozen rides that offer FASTPASS at both Disneyland Resort theme parks. Keep those attractions in mind when you arrive so you can head there first. You will insert your valid park ticket into the FASTPASS machine and it will generate a ticket with a return time. Then you just return at that time and enjoy the ride with a minimal wait!
A friendly tip-- check the Disneyland Mobile App for parade times because guests generally make their way to the parades, leaving attractions less crowded, which makes for shorter wait times.
For a wonderful meal service experience, you can make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE. This is a great way to avoid standing in line at quick service restaurants.
    I hope this helps.
