We are planning to come the first week in March 2015, but due to uncontrollable circumstances, will not be able to make and reservations besides our plane tickets until mid February. We have two young kids, any advice?

Hi, Maggie!  The best advice I can give you is to be flexible.  Once you start looking into making some of those reservations, you may find that not everything you would like is available when you want it to be, but you should be able to find something.

This is especially true with advanced dining reservations.  I planned a trip for Christmas week this past year with only four weeks notice.  I expected we would be eating popcorn and turkey legs available from the counter service locations and snack kiosks.  I ended up snagging reservations at some of our favorite restaurants by eating a little bit earlier or later than we might normally.  I also made sure I was a bit flexible on the day as well.

With resort rooms, if you know which category you'd prefer (Value, Moderate, or Deluxe), you might not get the exact resort you are hoping for, but you might find one in that category.  Another thing to be a bit more flexible on is the type of room.  If you were hoping for a preferred view at your favorite resort, you might have to consider a different view to stay at that location.

The only other reservations you'll need to worry about are your FastPass+ reservations.  These can be made 60 days in advance of your stay.  Once you've purchased your tickets and linked them through My Disney Experience, you'll be good to go ahead and book those reservations.

Have a great time, and thanks so much for the question!
