We are planning our first visit to WDW from Feb.14-21. Our kids are 14 yrs. old-boy/girl. I wanted help with an itinerary. We have 7 day park hopper passes. We also have the Quick Service Meal plan. Do you purchase the fast pass tickets after you get there

    Hello Stacy!
Your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is truly a reason to celebrate! I think you have started off right by adding the Park Hopper and Meal Plan.  President's Day and Disney's Princess Half Marathon both occur during your visit, so it is likely that the Parks will be busy.  For that reason, I recommend obtaining some in-depth itinerary planning help.  When I am planning a trip during a particularly busy time, I utilize the plans available in the book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" or through the author's website, touringplans.com.  Along with those resources, I will share with you my family’s top three "rules" of park touring:

    1. Arrive at the Park before opening. We can often enjoy more attractions the first two hours than we can the rest of the day.
    2. If one "goes," we all go.  This reduces the number of restroom stops each day. Enough said.
    3. Remember you can't do it all. Even after many trips to the Resort, my family has not experienced everything there is to see and do. It will be helpful to have your travelers choose their top attractions and make sure they are included in your plans.

A powerful tool Disney has provided is the FastPass+. And the best news? It is FREE! You can find step-by-step instructions on utilizing FastPass+ here. Along with the FastPass+, I think you will find the My Disney Experience mobile app an extremely valuable resource. It puts the power of all the plans you've made in the palm of your hand.

    See ya real soon!

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. While I can’t pick my funniest Disney memory – either my 70-year-old mother on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or my 4-year-old grandson on Dinosaur – I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures.
