Planning our first vacation to WDW with a 5 y/o girl and 3 y/o boy in July. Debating between Movies Resort and French Quarter. Does the boat from French Quarter go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot? Is the meal plan worth it? Looking for value but also ease. Thx!

    Hi, there!

Oh my goodness, Laura Lee - I'm so happy to hear you're planning your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation! My family and I have stayed at both of the Disney Resort hotels you're considering. We loved Disney's All-Star Movies Resort for it's unique theming, but we'd pick Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter if we had to choose between the two.

The small footprint of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter makes getting around the resort super easy and convenient. Since you'll be traveling in the heat of summer with little ones, you'll really enjoy Doubloon Lagoon pool! There's even a Water Play Area there that's perfect for your kiddos. The complimentary ferryboat transportation at this Resort hotel only travels to and from Disney Springs, but my kids think it's an actual attraction, and they just love this mode of Disney transportation. To travel to the theme parks, you would use the bus transportation. In my experience, the bus system has always been reliable and efficient!

My family and I are big fans of the Disney Dining Plans. If you want to add convenience and ease to your vacation, a dining plan will certainly do that! We've found lots of value in the Disney Dining Plan, in particular, and we appreciate it's flexibility.

Laura Lee, I recommend you check out the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page. There are a couple offers there that could apply to your July travel dates.

If you have any other questions, please let me know! I'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
