We are planning our first trip to WDW likely for sometime September to mid October. Our son is a big fan of Halloween and we would like to know when Halloween decorations are up and what special events leading up to Halloween are happening.

    Hi Adam,

I love Halloween, and when I am at Disney World, I love it even more!

While I am not sure when the Halloween goes up, it is ready by the end of September. One of the fun events is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This special event is limited to guests who purchase a separate ticket to the park. Starting at 7:00 pm, guests can ride select attractions with limited waits.

There are trick-or-treat stations and other fun events including a special parade and fireworks. You can come in costume if you like or as yourself.

My children love this party and we usually spend the day at the pool before heading to Magic Kingdom for the evening.

I hope your son has a frighfully ghoulish time!
