Hi, we are planning our first trip to WDW late Sept for 11 nights. (We have been to Disneyland) We are family 2A 2C (13yo boy/girl twins) and are trying to decide between Old Key West 1 bed Villa or Port Orleans FQ 2 interconnecting rooms? Thank you

    Hi Joanna.

You are choosing between two lovely resorts! Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter has the elegance of New Orleans. Disney's Old Key West Resort has a laid-back, Florida Keys feel. You should consider which of these themes appeals the most to your family when you are making your decision. Beyond this, there are a few differences in the two that you should consider

If you decide to go with two rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, you will have two queen beds in each room. You will also have two bathrooms. There will not be a dedicated living space, nor will there be a kitchen. The approximate square footage of these rooms is 314 square feet, so overall you would have about 628 square feet. Please also know that connecting rooms are a request - you can make a request and Disney will do their best to honor it, but this is not a guarantee, so you could end up with rooms that do not connect.

In a one-bedroom villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort, you will have a king-size bed in the bedroom, and a queen-size sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair in the living room. Once the sleeper sofa and sleeper chair are folded up for the day, you will have a large living area. You will also have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The square footage of a one-bedroom villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort is approximately 942 square feet, giving you much more square footage. The drawback to this option is that you will only have one bathroom.

If I was making this choice, I would choose the one-bedroom villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort; however, that is just what would be right for my family. Good luck with making your decision, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
