Hi we are planning our first trip to WDW IN August Im wonderind is we should stay at a value or a moderate hotel there will be 4 people-2 adults a 17 and a 5 yr old thanks

    Hi Kelly,

Congratulations to your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resorts!  August is when my family usually visits the World.

Besides price, the main difference between the Value and Moderate resorts is travel time to the various parks.  The Value Resorts are further away from the parks which means longer travel times.  They also have less amenities than the Moderates and some rooms are smaller.

The Moderates will be closer to the parks and offer mini-refrigerators and coffee pots in the rooms.  My favorite Moderate-Port Orleans Riverside also offers a "curtain" near the bathroom which can be pulled across to provide privacy for dressing.

Both Moderate and Value Resort have pools, food courts, a store and other activities.  All are themed nicely and transportation to the parks is via a motorcoach.

I would have my children take a look and see what resort appeals to them.

    Have a great trip!
