We are planning our first trip in October with our 2 children (at the time: 4 and 6). Trying to figure out if EMH are worth it? Are we better off going to a different park instead with no EMH?

Hello Michelle.  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Your children are at great ages to visit Walt Disney World.  I am so excited for you!

My family and I always take advantage of Extra Magic Hours in the morning.  I love being inside a near empty park for pictures.  We are able to ride our favorite attractions several times with little to no wait time before the parks tend to get busy.  It is also a great time to squeeze in a few character meet and greets before the lines fill up.  I am a big fan of the Extra Magic Hours but that does mean we are up early pounding the pavement.  My daughter, 7, never seems to mind the early mornings.  She is always up and excited to start the day.  When utilizing the Extra Magic Hours, I always schedule our FastPass+ reservations for the afternoon, when the parks are busy, so we can ride our favorite attractions again.  It is also really nice to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours if you are planning on leaving the Park midday for an afternoon swim or nap.  By being in the park early, you don't miss out on nearly as much if you do decide to leave and then come back.  We love touring the parks this way.  I don't have anything negative to say about the Extra Magic Hours.  We also love using the nighttime Extra Magic Hours.  After dinner, it is really fun to go back to the parks and stay late.  The parks have such a fun vibe at night, it is just a good time.

Have a wonderful vacation.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
