We are planning our first trip in June. If we have to cut corners where should it be? We are planning on staying at Animal Kingdom (savannah view), dining package, 7 day park hoppers, arrive Sunday, leave Saturday. Do we cut resort loc. or dining, etc.

There are many opportunities to cut budgeting corners when planning your WDW trip.

For instance, if you do not plan on being in your room often, I would book a standard view. You can still view the animals from many locations around the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Consider how often will you be sitting or standing on your balcony. Have you looked in to all of the discount options for your resort? Check mousesavers.com to see if any discounts may apply to your stay.

When considering the dining plan, calculate the cost per night for each adult and child in your party. Take a look at the dining menus on allearsnet.com and estimate whether the dining plan is a good bargain for your family's eating preferences. You can definitely cut meal costs if you do not want to eat many sit down meals.

For your 7 day tickets, also view discounts at mousesavers.com. Consider whether you will really get use out of the hoppers on your first and last day. Perhaps you could use those days to check out Downtown Disney or relax by the pool. Also decide when purchasing your Magic Your Way tickets, whether you need the no expiration, park hopper or any other Add-On options.

If you are looking to cut costs, make sure that you’ve utilized any discounts available to you. Use any savings to put toward your meal costs. With some planning, you can really make your budget stretch!
