Hello :) We are planning our first trip ever to Disney for Oct.2016. I need to know the little in's and out's to make our trip the best. Also, I contacted a travel agent it is really needed? Also, is it a typical time of year for the free dining? L

    Hi Megan!

Congratulations on your first ever trip to Walt Disney World (WDW)! October is a wonderful time of year to visit WDW! The temperatures are wonderful, the crowds are light and you can experience Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! I always book my WDW vacations directly on the Disney website and I book the Magic Your Way Package that includes park tickets, as well as the WDW resort stay. I find this to be the best way to compare prices at different resorts and ticket options and then choose the best package for my family.

Another tip that I love to share is that you can visit Mousesavers dot com and view the historical WDW promotions/deals to see when free dining and other special promotions are offered. While it's no guarantee that it will be offered at the same time each year, it will give you a good indication of what to expect. There is typically a free dining package offered in the fall timeframe and the dates for that promotion are usually released in the Spring.

Other tips for you, when you arrive, make sure to tell a Cast Member that it's your first visit. You will receive a complimentary first visit button! Also, make all of your Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days in advance, as restaurants fill up fast! You can also use My Disney Experience to book your Fast Passes in advance, purchase Memory Maker and view park hours and attractions to plan every detail of your visit.

And of course, please come back and ask any question you have of the Moms Panel because we are delighted to help you!!

I hope you have a magical visit!
    Magically,
    Stacy
