We are planning our first trip ever to Disney Animal Kingdom and are wondering can we visit the park, leave and return all in the same day (like can we go back to our hotel room take a nap and return)?

Hi, Ruth! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your question! Your Magic Your Way theme park tickets allow you to absolutely do just that - make the magic your way! You are welcome to take a break in the middle of the day to return to your hotel room and come back to the same park later in the day. In fact, I often recommend it to friends, especially those visiting in the summer. I like to head to the theme parks early in the day before it gets really hot (bonus: crowds are lighter in those first few hours!) and then head back to our Walt Disney World Resort hotel to swim and relax in the afternoon. This afternoon break is easily accomplished if you are staying in one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels since they provide complimentary transportation back to the hotels throughout the day.

We usually head back to the theme parks in the evening for a few extra rides on our favorite attractions and nighttime spectaculars. If you would like to visit a different theme park in the evening, be sure to add the Park Hopper option to your theme park tickets. This option will give you the ability to hop to different theme parks for the entire length of your tickets. You could even hop to all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in one day!

Be sure to make your FastPass+ selections in advance of your trip. One option you have is to plan your FastPass+ selections for the time when you intend to return to the theme park in the evening. This can help you have a magical evening with a short wait at your favorite attractions.

I hope this information helps you plan a pixie-dusted adventure, Ruth! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
