We are planning our first trip to disneyland with a 4 yr old and 2 year old. On the disney website packages for character dining- charges for the 4 year old but not the 2? Does that mean she has to be a lap child and share our meal?

    Hi Nicole,

First trips to The Happiest Place on Earth are simply the best! I'm so excited for your family to experience the magic of Disney!

Be sure to stop by Guest Services and get your family members a free 'First Visit' button to wear during your vacation; Cast Members that see the button will be sure to send a warm welcome your way.

The reason you are seeing your 4 year old charged for the meal and not your 2 year old is because children 3 years old and older are considered a paying Child. For example, Children ages 3 to 9 are required to have a Child Theme Park Admission Ticket to enter Disney Parks. You can have your 2 year old share a meal with one of you or you can pay for a meal from the Childs Menu for them. When you make your Disney Dining reservations, you will want to include all the Guests in your party, even children under 3 years old.

Dining reservations are highly recommended, they can be made by calling 714-781-3463.

I hope you have a magical time at The Happiest Place on Earth! If you have any more questions, please write me back, I'm here to help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Happy Disney Dining!
