We are planning our first trip to Disneyland on August 13th. I need help on the do’s and donts. Dining plans and which tickets to buy and which rides are scary for my 4 and 6 year olds. Which rides you have to do fast pass for? This mom needs help!

    Hi, V!

I’m glad you stopped by with your questions about the Disneyland Resort. I recommend taking advantage of the benefits of Park Hopper Tickets so you have the privilege of moving back and forth between the two adjacent theme parks. That way, you can tailor your schedule according to available entertainment, dining and attractions in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park daily.

The Disneyland Resort doesn't offer dining plans, but there are many amazing table-service restaurants and quick-service dining locations to enjoy. Use the Disneyland app to secure a last-minute dining reservation or peruse all the resort restaurant menus.

With the help of Disney FASTPASS service, you should be able to experience your must-do attractions. Please check out the attractions list. It can be sorted by age interest, height requirement and thrill level to help you pick the attractions you want to make your family’s highest priority. If thrill rides are at the top of your list, start your day at Disneyland Park by heading to either Space Mountain or Indiana Jones Adventure, two of the park’s most popular attractions. Radiator Springs Racers, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and Incredicoaster are some favorites at Disney California Adventure Park. Keep in mind that most classic attractions like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Peter Pan’s Flight don’t offer Disney FASTPASS, so you will have to wait in a stand-by queue for those.

I hope this helps you plan, V, and that your family’s vacation is perfectly pixie-dusted!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
