We are planning our first trip to Disney with our 6yr old daughter (she turns 6 while we are there), and 4 1/2yr old son. We have park hopper tickets. We are spending 2 out of our 4 days at Magic Kingdom, which other parks would be appropriate?

    Hi Kelley!
How awesome that you are planning your first trip! You will enjoy it ten times more as you will be experiencing it with your children!!
I think planning for at least two of your days to be spent in the Magic Kingdom is wise. There is SO much to do here that your family will be overwhelmed if you tried to do it all in one day. For a second park for this age group, I would recommend Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are great attractions and even better shows like Muppet Vision 3-D, Beauty and the Beast Stage Show, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and Lights, Motor, Action Extreme Stunt Show. Clearly, lots to do here! For a third park, I would recommend Disney's Animal Kingdom. Here, the kids can get a close-up view of the animals on Kilamanjaro Safari, and take on the Yeti (if they dare) on Expedition Everest! There's also some great stage shows like Finding Nemo. Keep in mind that Animal Kingdom is pretty spread out, and the kids will do a lot of walking (parents, too). If you find that this is becoming a bit much, you could always "hop" back to Magic Kingdom for some additional touring, and some "re-dos" of the kids' favorite attractions. Lastly, don't forget to get your daughter a "Happy Birthday" button either at resort check-in or at Guest Services of any park. She will love hearing Cast Members say, "Happy Birthday, Princess"!!
I wish you all a Magical first visit!! :)
