Planning first trip to Disney (7 year old boy) want to stay on property and looking for convenient places to stay Moderate or Deluxe. Recommendations? Pros/Cons of options.

    Hi Eddie!

The only Moderate Resort I personally recommend is Port Orleans -- either French Quarter or Riverside.  I think the other Moderate Resorts are too large, though a lot of guests absolutely love the others.  In fact, Coronado Springs was recently voted as the favorite Moderate Resort of the panelists on the Moms Panel in an unofficial poll.

I really love Port Orleans Riverside.  I love the theming, especially of the Alligator Bayou section.  I also love it's relatively large pool and the fact that it has boat service to Downtown Disney.  That's a great trip to take at night -- it's a lot of fun and relaxing!

All of the Deluxe Resorts are fabulous!  My favorites are the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club.  However, they are all wonderful and my personal favorites are really just tied to my personality more than anything else!  If you think you will be spending a lot of time in the Magic Kingdom (and you probably will be with a young child), then I recommend staying on a Magic Kingdom monorail resort to provide easy access to and from your room.  Of the three, my favorite is the Polynesian Resort.  It's beautiful and a lot of fun.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions and I can provide some more information and opinions.
