Planning our first trip to Disney World. Im having a hard time choosing which resort to stay in. There will be 5 of us.. 2 adults and 3 children (ages: 10,6,and 5) Looking for the best suite for our family. Any suggestions?

    Hi Kim,

There are several great places for a family of five to stay at Walt Disney World.  Let me suggest an option in each of the three vacation budget categories.

If staying at a deluxe resort fits within your budget, consider staying in a one-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  My preference between the two would be Bay Lake Tower because you can actually walk from this resort to the Magic Kingdom.  If you prefer to watch giraffes from your balcony, then Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a better choice.  At both resorts, a one-bedroom villa affords guests the luxury of a full kitchen and private laundry facilities.  These are fabulous amenities, especially for families traveling with children.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside is the only moderate Disney resort that offers rooms for five.  These rooms can be found in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort.  If your kids love to swim, they'll love Ol' Man Island at this resort.

The family suites at Disney's All Star Music Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort (opening this May) are options that accommodate up to six guests at a Disney value resort.  These are fun, well-themed resorts that all ages will enjoy.  These rooms offer a kitchenette rather than a full kitchen but they do offer families a nice amount of space to spread out.

These are all great options but my favorites are the suites located in the Disney deluxe resorts, largely because of their proximity to the Disney theme parks.  Let us know, Kim, if you'd like any additional information regarding any of these accommodations.

Have fun planning your magical Disney adventure!
