I am planning our very first trip to Disney world for me my husband and our 4&1 year old daughter's. Where do I start and get the best deals for everything? And when is the best time of the year to go so it's not so hot and the least crowded

Hi Esther and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for sending me your question! I am so very excited to hear you are planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with your family!

My favorite time of year to visit is during the month of February, or anytime between October and December. I feel like the crowds are more manageable at these times and overall, the temperature is a bit on the cooler side.  There are also two great special ticketed events that take place at the Magic Kingdom Park this time of year!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party offers some unique experiences like trick-or-treating in the park! You can even dress up in your Halloween costume! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is almost an annual tradition for my family. We love to celebrate the holidays with our favorite characters and we always bring home a special ornament for our tree.

Dates for these events have not been released yet but if you keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog you’re sure to see a mention of them soon.

After I decide when we are going, I make our reservations. We’ve stayed at many of the value and moderate resorts and I always check for special offers before I book.

Did you know that you can bring drinks and snacks into the theme parks? I always pack some juice boxes, bottled water, sodas and snacks for my family. Thank goodness for strollers!

Esther, there are so many fun activities you can add to your vacation to make it truly magical. Please feel free to come back with any other questions you may have!
