We are planning our first trip to Disney World (2 adults & a 4-yr-old). What is the best week in Feb to visit? We want to visit the Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios parks. Where should we stay? What dining events are good for a preschooler?

    Hi, Victoria!

This is an excellent question, because any month in Walt Disney World may see crowd levels quite low AND high, depending on the week. Good call.

If  your schedule isn't dictated by holidays, then take advantage of that fact while you still can and visit WDW any time from Tuesday, 2/5/13 through Friday, 2/15/13. According to touringplans.com, a great, unofficial site, crowd levels will be at an average of 3-7 out of 10 during those days; this will enable you to enjoy more attractions as the wait times will be shorter then. Saturday, 2/23/13 also begins a week with really low crowd levels. :-)

Regarding accommodations, there are so many fantastic resorts on WDW property, that I'd say to be sure to choose one of those. There are so many benefits to staying at a WDW Resort, you'll be so happy that you chose to do so. To help formulate your budget, enter your travel dates in WDW's online booking page; you will get an idea of the cost of your trip, and can then change your resort category, showing you the additional expense of staying at each other resort. There are wonderful resorts in every category, too, and WDW Resort Cast Members are used to catering to families with young children, so don't worry about choosing the wrong resort. I suggest looking at those locations which are closest to Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios, since these are the 2 you mentioned.

Regarding dining? CHARACTER dining is where you want to be, my friend. Your little one will love The Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and many other dining locations. Send another question telling me about your little one's interests, favorite characters, etc., and I'll recommend dining opportunities for you that will make this first visit truly spectacular!

I love to help, Victoria, so keep those questions coming. :-)
